Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress, best well-known for her films in Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She earned the B.A. with a major in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting at Tisch School of acting at New York University. Aunjanue has a reputation as an American actress, producer and director who works in television and film. Aunjanue. Ellis started her acting career in theatre. Then, she appeared in television shows as well as independent and mainstream film. She was known for appearing as Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) as well as on BET's huge The Book of Negroes. The two series garnered praise from critics, and she also won a lot of awards. She started her career as an actor in the year 1995 when she played Ariel on the stage in The Tempest. Her stage credits include The Broadway performance that Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Coming to her movie career she is renowned for her roles in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. Also, she is well-known for her character on ABC's crime-drama High Incident.
